As Chanhassen has continued to grow, more main arterial roads are needed. One of such is Powers Boulevard.
In 1980, Chanhassen planned a four lane boulevard known as Powers Boulevard to connect Minnesota Highway 5 with newer neighborhoods on the south side of town.
As a result, a new railroad bridge was needed to cross this road.
Consisting of two deck girder spans, the bridge remains in very good condition. The entire structure sits on concrete substructures, and the bridge contains little decorative features.

The author has ranked this bridge as being minimally significant, due to the newer age.
